One-world design architects is a Haslemere based multiple award winning RIBA Chartered architectural practice

Our team, led by Chris Medland ARB RIBA AMICE, creates sustainable, elegant and practical buildings designed for a changing climate.

Alongside more than 25 years’ experience in architecture, Chris is a Fellow of the Institute for Sustainability and is undertaking doctoral research into place-based climate change resilience, infrastructure and the way buildings and communities respond to climate risk. This research increasingly informs OWD’s approach to both new and existing buildings.

We seek to reduce energy demand, incorporate renewable energy, support biodiversity and improve the long-term resilience, comfort and adaptability of the places we design.

One World Design Architects works across the South, South East and South West of England on projects ranging from bespoke homes, extensions and listed buildings to education, mixed-use and infrastructure projects. We also provide climate change resilience assessments for homeowners, property owners and developers.

We have a proven track record of securing planning consent for complex and sensitive sites, including listed buildings, conservation areas and protected landscapes. Initial consultations are available free of charge. Our fees reflect each project’s scope and complexity.
